Beginner Zen Camp, 15th-18th of June, 2023

Dear Applicants!

We are organizing a Zen camp in Original Light Zen Temple in Esztergom. (2500, Esztergom, Búbosbanka str. 61) Zen camp is a good opportunity for those who want to learn about teaching and the community, and are ready get away several days from their usual environment.

Zen camps were created so that members of the sangha could get to know Zen — and each other — better in less formal circumstances. The rules of Zen retreats are necessarily strict, while those of Zen camps are more relaxed. 

The 3 days program is planned to take place between Thursday 4:00 pm and Sunday 2:00 pm. The program is in Hungarian, the most important instructions can be translated into English.

• 07:45 Work program
• 10:00 40′ Sitting meditation
• 11:00 Food offering ceremony
• 12:00 Lunch
• 14:00-14:40 Meditation
• 15:00-17:00 Afternoon program
• 17:30 Dinner
• 19:00 Evening songs
• 19:30 2×40′ Sitting meditation
• 21:00 Four Bodhisattva Vows
• 22:00 Light out

Participation is only possible for the duration of the entire retreat. The program may vary depending on the situation.

The self-cost fee of the event (for the 3 full days) is 135 EUR/Person/3 days. We provide three vegetarian meals a day during the retreat.
